Building capacity
for a better food system
in Southeast Asia

Welfare Matters is dedicated to improving welfare, reducing suffering, and promoting flourishing for all individuals and sentient beings.

We are currently focused on building capacity in Southeast Asia in the areas of farmed animal advocacy in the region.

Our programmes aim to address the talent bottlenecks and support the growth of relevant localised projects — to contribute to reducing the suffering of farmed animals by as much as possible.

Our team previously helped to start the effective altruism community and networks in Singapore and Southeast Asia. We are guided by the principles of the Effective Altruism movement, and strive to use evidence and reason to find highly impactful strategies for achieving our goals.
